Is the privacy policy I generate accepted by Meta (Facebook), Google, and Apple developer accounts?
Yes. Our Basic template is built to satisfy Meta App Review, Google Play Store Data Safety, and Apple App Store privacy disclosures. Thousands of developers use generators like this for exactly that purpose.
How is this different from just copy-pasting a template from another site?
We host the policy at a permanent URL you can submit to app stores. If you copy-paste into your own site, you have to host it, keep it updated, and Meta/Google may reject links that disappear. Your PolicyHosting URL never breaks, and we version every change.
Do I need a website to use this?
No. The website URL is optional. Many of our users are building mobile apps and don't have a public website yet — they just need a hostable privacy policy URL for app review.
Can I update my policy after publishing?
Yes, anytime. The URL stays the same; the content updates. Pro users get full version history with a visible "Last updated" date.
Does this make my app legally compliant with GDPR/CCPA?
Our GDPR and CCPA templates cover the disclosure requirements those laws impose on privacy policies, but legal compliance is broader than a document — it includes how you actually handle data. For complex situations, consult a lawyer.
What data do you collect about me (the policy author)?
Only what we need to run your account: email, password (hashed), and the policies you create. We don't sell or share your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What happens to my policy if I cancel my Pro subscription?
Your published policies stay live and accessible for the remainder of your paid term (up to 1 year from your last payment). After that, the policy URL is taken down. You can re-subscribe anytime to restore hosting.
What languages are supported?
Currently English only. We're tracking interest in Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese — let us know via contactus@policyhosting.com if you need a specific language.
Can I delete my policy?
Yes. You can delete any policy from your dashboard at any time. Deletion removes both the public URL and our copy of the content. Be careful — once a published URL is deleted, links to it from your app stores will break until you republish with a new URL.
How long does it take to generate a policy?
About 60 seconds. Fill out a short form (app name, contact email, what data you collect), preview, and publish. The URL is live instantly.
